Communications Specialist
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Onsite 3 to 4 days per week, Monday through Thursday
Duration: Approximately 3 to 4 months, with potential for extension through November
Pay Rate: $40/hour
 
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a leading entertainment and technology organization seeking an experienced Event & Communications Specialist to support a high-profile, enterprise-wide technology showcase this fall.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys managing complex events from concept through execution, and excels at bringing cross-functional teams together through clear communication and exceptional organization.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage timelines, deliverables, and milestones to ensure successful event execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate logistics, demonstrations, presentations, and event operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational needs, including event services, catering, vendors, invoices, promotional items, and registration.
  • Draft and edit content for event websites, registration pages, invitations, signage, presentations, and other event collateral.
  • Develop internal communications to promote the event across multiple channels while maintaining consistent messaging and branding.
  • Prepare event briefs, stakeholder presentations, meeting notes, task trackers, and project documentation.
  • Provide onsite coordination before and during the event, ensuring seamless execution and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Track project progress, identify risks proactively, and collaborate with project leadership to keep initiatives on schedule.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in event planning, communications, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting large-scale corporate events with 100+ attendees.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to execution.
  • Advanced proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Apple Keynote
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supporting large entertainment, media, or technology organizations.
  • Experience using:
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • WordPress
    • Asana
  • Interest or experience in technology, innovation, AI, or media and entertainment.
  • Experience working on strategic, high-visibility initiatives with executive stakeholders.
