Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (ET)
Employment Type: Temp-to-Direct (520-hour conversion)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Planner & Scheduler II (Project Controls) to support critical capital, maintenance, and infrastructure projects within a highly regulated utility environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a project controls professional who thrives in schedule development, cost tracking, performance reporting, and project planning support.

This role is primarily remote, however candidates must live in the Hartford, CT area and be available for occasional in-person meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, scheduling logic, project controls methodologies, and utility or infrastructure project environments.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Scheduling:
  •  Develop and maintain detailed project schedules across multiple project workstreams.
  •  Build and manage schedule logic, milestones, dependencies, critical path, and resource loading. 
  •  Monitor schedule performance and identify risks, delays, or schedule impacts. 
  •  Recommend corrective actions and mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery. 
  •  Support schedule forecasting and timeline optimization.

Project Controls & Reporting:
  •  Collect, interpret, and analyze schedule and cost performance data.
  •  Prepare routine and ad hoc project controls reports, dashboards, and metrics. 
  •  Support cost tracking, progress reporting, and schedule performance analysis. 
  •  Identify trends, variances, and performance risks. 
  •  Assist with project controls process improvements and reporting enhancements.
 
Cross-Functional Support:
  •  Partner with Project Managers to maintain accurate schedules, scope, timelines, and resource plans. 
  •  Collaborate with engineering, construction, controls, and contract teams. 
  •  Support planning alignment with contracts, field operations, and resource planning functions. 
  •  Apply project controls methodologies to improve planning and execution efficiency. 
  •  Recommend improvements to scheduling accuracy, controls tools, and reporting processes.
 
Required Qualifications:
  •  3 to 6 years of experience in project scheduling or project controls.
  •  Experience supporting utility, infrastructure, construction, or capital projects.
  •  Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
  •  Solid understanding of: 
    •  Schedule logic. 
    •  Critical path methodology. 
    •  Milestone tracking. 
    •  Resource planning. 
    •  Cost integration and schedule performance analysis. 
  •  Experience preparing project reports, dashboards, and performance metrics. 
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  •  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. 
  •  Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
  •  Must be local to Hartford, CT and available for occasional in-person meetings.
 
Preferred Background:
  •  Experience in a regulated utility environment.
  •  Exposure to capital project planning and maintenance scheduling. 
  •  Knowledge of project controls best practices and process improvement initiatives.
 
Screening Requirements:
  •  County Criminal Background Check (7 years). 
  •  National Criminal File Search. 
  •  9-Panel Drug Screen. 
  •  Employment Verification (minimum 2 years). 
  •  Social Security Validation.
