Duration: Minimum 3-month assignment, potential for extension
Compensation: $33.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Office Specialist to support a Workers’ Compensation unit within a structured, fast-paced environment. This role is heavily focused on document management and requires someone who can handle high-volume administrative tasks with accuracy and consistency.

The ideal candidate brings direct experience working with workers’ compensation files, claims documentation, or medical/legal records, and thrives in a process-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-volume filing and document management, accounting for the majority of daily responsibilities.
  • Scan, index, and organize incoming documentation including medical records, claims files, and correspondence.
  • Route documents accurately to claims examiners and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized and compliant file systems in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with tracking, logging, and updating claim-related documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth department operations.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative or office support experience.
  • Direct experience working with workers’ compensation claims, files, or documentation is required.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation terminology and processes.
  • Experience handling medical records, claims documents, or legal files.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high-volume workloads.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a public agency or government environment.
  • Prior experience supporting a Risk Management or Workers’ Compensation unit.
  • Familiarity with systems such as EAMS or other claims management platforms.
