Materials Lab Technician
Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite) Must be local
Schedule: Full-time
Pay Rate: $28 - $30 DOE

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Translate analytical requests into sample preparation, equipment setup, testing, and reporting
- Perform material evaluations using standardized testing methods
- Collect, analyze, and document data with accuracy and consistency
- Maintain lab safety standards and workplace organization
- Identify abnormalities and communicate findings to engineering teams
- Support preventative maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of lab equipment
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent hands-on laboratory experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an analytical lab or materials testing environment
- Experience operating highly sensitive analytical lab equipment
- Ability to apply technical standards such as ASTM, ISO, or similar
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
- Proven ability to collaborate with engineering and technical teams
- Ability to troubleshoot testing processes and equipment issues
Key Requirements (Work Environment):
- 100% onsite role based in Plano, TX
- Work performed on a laboratory shop floor with exposure to machinery
- Comfortable working in enclosed, environmentally controlled lab spaces
- Ability to meet physical demands, including moderate bending and lifting up to 40 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Materials Science or related field, or equivalent lab experience
- Experience working with chemicals and/or in a test lab environment
- Experience with tools such as SEM, XRF, EPMA, FTIR, Gas or Ion Chromatography
- Experience with tensile testing, hardness testing, metallography, or materials analysis
- Exposure to plastics, resins, paint, sealer testing, or salt spray testing
- Experience using Keyence microscopes or machine shop tools

- Long-term contract opportunity with potential for extension based on business needs
